{father's day}

Father's day was especially great this year because my parent's were here! They called me on the Monday night before and said they would be here on Thursday. I was like, Oh, awesome/Oh, crap! There was a lot more that I wanted done with the house before my parents saw it for the first time, but it was such a busy week, I knew I couldn't do anything more than just get it clean! And seriously, I was cleaning minutes before they came :)
It was so wonderful having them here. The kids just loved it. My mom and dad always do a good job spoiling us. My mom hemmed a few of my curtains and my dad kept the kids giggling.
On Father's day we actually missed church, due to Olivia's party the night before, but my mom and I cooked up a really good meal. While things were still cooking, we all took a drive thru Harper's Ferry and then came back home to eat. As you can see, I was pretty proud of my red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and raspberries on it. It was good. And yes, it was all Duncan Hines :)
I am really lucky to have the amazing father's in my life that I do. There are almost no words for me to describe my own dad. Growing up in a family of 7 kids was stressful at times, but my dad worked so, so hard to provide for us and to give was we wanted. He makes all of us feel like he would do absolutely anything for us. He is a very kind and honest man.
And to Sabe, thank you for working so hard for our family. I hate that you have to go to work everyday, but I hope you know that the kids and I love you very much. You are a good man and the kids adore you!

What a great Father's Day this was! You are so lucky you were able to have your parents with you. I'm sure your house is incredible--everything else you do is!!
